Daniel Smith

‘The Tube’

Well, how can I go to London and not take a picture of the world famous London Underground?
I thought this picture was brilliant, it was done on a slow shutter speed and shows a train coming into the station which adds movement to the picture. The sole figure on the platform is what I love about this picture.

A fantastic image, Daniel. I love the ‘ghost’ effect of the train – I didn’t even notice the train until I read the description!

The perspective works really well too, all the lines drawing your eye to the man on the platform.

That man, who I have no idea whom it is, was soo good. Did not ask him to stand still but did so on his own accord! Off to London again soon so I will try and get a few more.

Thank you for the kind comments Peter and if you can find a use for it, let me know and I will send you the full res image.

Thanks Daniel, that’s a kind offer. I’m sure it would be useful. I’d be happy to have it!

Rothko found the new york underground inspiring, the flashes of colour in stripes. Great image Daniel.
