‘African Big 5 – Black Rhinocerous’

This image is from a series of etchings of the African Big 5 I did this past year. With a few of these I also added colour to them using watercolour paints, which apparently is a technique if not completely unused before, then one very rarely used indeed.

    Thanks Marie, I was very pleased with this series. Hopefully one day I’ll have the chance to do another series on this subject, painted from life.

    This is almost like a prehistoric cave painting – lovely texture. I like the others in the series too – some like this one, and others much more ‘photographic’ in style. Great work!
