‘Deux Chevaux’

Photo of rear bumper detail of a vintage Citroen 2CV – a seminal moment in Automotive Design – in terms of function, style and democratic ambition. Truly a masterpiece.

Digital photo – taken with a Pentax K100D.

Nice image, Michael. A good sense of history, using the sepia tone.

    They’re lovely things, 2CVs.

Never mind the font – look at the woodwork! That’s craftsmanship and design.

Thanks guys. More of a snapshot really, but this image sums up many of my loves. Typography, Graphic Design, History, Product Design and Photography. Considering the 2CV is a pretty utilitarian design, I’m rather impressed that the design team found time to get the Citroen logo sooo right on the bumper. Bliss.
